Consultancy
Other than conducting training, short courses, and workshops, AKUATROP also provides consultancy and analytical/diagnosis services to farmers. Presently, there are three types of services: diagnosis of disease, determination of feed quality, and water and soil quality services. AKUATROP aims to assist the aquaculture industry by providing advice on selection of suitable culture sites, risk-cost analysis, selection of profitable species and other technical aspects.
In 2006 AKUATROP signed MOUs with five organisations. The lastest MOU is with Langkawi Underwater World. The scopes of the MOU for each organisation is as follows:
Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia (LKIM)
- To assist and collaborate in research and development (R & D) of aquaculture in Malaysia.
- To provide training to entrepreneurs.
- To provide consultancy services to related departments.
- To provide extension services.
Kembang Subur Sdn. Bhd. (KSSB)
- To assist and collaborate in research and (R & D) of aquaculture in Malaysia.
Koperasi Industri Desa Islam Kelantan (KIDIKB)
- To assist and collaborate in research and development (R & D) of aquaculture.
- Specialize in breeding biology and biotechnology research of horseshoe crab.
Kelah World Sdn. Bhd.
- To assist and collaborate in research and development (R & D) of aquaculture of River carp (Tor tambroides)
LKIM Pahang
- To perform topography, hidrology, socio and economy analysis on Kampung Badong, Pahang for data compilation in EIA report.
Langkawi Underwater World Sdn. Bhd.
- To assist and collaborate in research and development (R & D) of potential ornamental coral species at Langkawi Underwater World.
- Research on in-situ and laboratory breeding of corals and maintenance of coral health.
