Marine Hatchery

AKUATROP's Marine Hatchery is located at the back of AKUATROP main office and near to seawater supply. This marine hatchery are full equipped with continuously seawater supply, aeration system, various culture system, culture tanks multiple size, aquariums, gen set back-up system, and other hatchery facilities. Here in Marine Hatchery, AKUATROP holds six other units which divided into:

Re-circulating Aquaculture System Unit (RAS)

This unit is a RAS project which applies a re-circulating system in culturing grouper and other species. This unit also being supply with protein skimmer system, UV light, aeration system, water supply (marine and freshwater), and fiber tanks for culture.

Mini Project Unit

This unit is equipped with aeration system, seawater and fresh water supply, aquariums for culture, tanks with multiple size, rotifer culture area, and link to AKUATROP cabin laboratory.

Crustaceans Unit

Crustaceans Unit was build in order to fulfill the demand in expanding AKUATROP research area. A semi-closed hatchery was build equipped with more than 20 culture tanks, sand filtration system, blower for continuously aeration supply, water supplies and others.

Marine Ornamental Units

There are two marine ornamental units in AKUATROP Hatchery. However, these units run a same function in culturing marine ornamental organisms for research purposes. Some of the species cultured in these units are anemone, clown fish various species and corals. These units were fully equipped with glass culture aquariums, re-circulating water system, water supply for marine and fresh water, freezer, aeration, and other facilities.

Seaweed and abalone Units.

In this unit, the area was design to fulfill the needed in culturing abalone and seaweed. There are fiber tanks, aquariums with racks,filtration systems, continuously aeration supply, and water supply.
