April 4th saw me and Pelf meeting our first batch of weekly turtle volunteers at the Shahbandar Jetty in KT.
We have managed to procure only 12 nests through Lina at Kampong Mangkok and an additional three at Kampong Banggol, with Ropi helping us.
We have decided to extend this campaign one more year as our target to collect a million signatures have not been met. So far only about 10,000 signatures have been collected.
If you have already signed the pledge NOT to eat turtle eggs for the rest of your life, we would like you to sign the petition again, because we have also included an appeal to the Malaysian Department of Fisheries and the Terengganu State Government to ban the collection, sale and consumption of turtle eggs.
