When it comes to research, Univesiti Malaysia Terengganu continuously strives to excel. Its main areas of research are Science, Technology, and Natural Resource Management. Capitalizing on its strategic location along the shore of the South China Sea in Kuala Terengganu, UMT conducts research in oceanography and marine sciences. UMT continously enhances its research capacity, capabilities, and scopes, which encompass other areas such as maritime studies, economics, management, basic sciences, physical sciences, engineering and computer. The research undertakings have been acknowledged universally by different bodies as evidenced by outstanding research achievements and recognitions, recorded both at national and international research exhibitions and competitions.
