“I would like to announce that the Special Fund for Research and Innovation Thrust has been increased to RM3 million each year to improve UMT’s RDCI achievements.

He said that UMT’s performance is above those by other similar universities that were established less than 15 years ago.

“UMT has also achieved 5 stars in the SETARA ratings for Emerging University (< 15 years of establishment), and Praise Be to God, we achieved 6 stars in 2021. This is the result of excellent commitment and cooperation from everyone at UMT.

He added all the new discoveries from research and innovation activities need to be expanded to the next level in order to be beneficial.

“UMT researchers need to think more about commercializing research-based products and translate those registered intellectual properties into commercialized products that provide additional incomes to the university, the community, and the industry.

MAPi2023 gave away awards for six categories, namely Research Grant Award, Publication Award, Innovation Award, Best Award, and Special Award.
