BACHELOR OF AGRO PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY WITH HONOUR

  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This programme is specifically designed to produce graduates who are competent in agro-processing and agricultural product technology. It emphasizes post-harvest management aspects, including the processing of crops, livestock, and aquaculture products, preservation technology, packaging, food safety, as well as automation and supply chain logistics.

In addition, the programme covers elements such as standards and regulations related to agricultural products, agro-waste processing, and the requirements of the halal food industry. This holistic approach aims to prepare graduates who are ready to contribute to the development of the national agro-food sector through sustainable, innovative, and safe processing technologies.

Crop Processing Technology, Agricultural Produce Preservation and Storage Technology, Agricultural Packaging Technology, Agricultural Automation and Simulation, Livestock and Aquaculture Product Processing Technology, Crop Product Safety Analysis, Research Methods in Agriculture, Agricultural Produce Standards and Regulations, Agricultural Supply Chain and Logistics Operations, Halal Agro-Food Production Management Technology, Sensory Evaluation of Agricultural Products, Agricultural Waste Processing Technology, Agrotechnopreneurship and Digital Marketing, Post-Harvest Pest and Disease Management Technology, Plant Botany and Physiology, Basic Soil Science, Post-Harvest Biology, Final Year Research Project, Industrial Training.

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

STPM LEAVERS (SCIENCE)
Obtain at least a Grade D in ONE (1) subject at the STPM level:
• Physics / Chemistry / Biology

STPM LEAVERS (ARTS)
Obtain at least a Grade B in ONE (1) subject at the SPM level:
• Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Science

MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION LEAVERS (SCIENCE / ENGINEERING)
Obtain at least a Grade D in ONE (1) subject at the Matriculation level:
• Physics / Chemistry / Biology

MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION LEAVERS (ACCOUNTING)
Obtain at least a Grade B in ONE (1) subject at the SPM level:
• Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Science

DIPLOMA HOLDERS
Possess a Diploma or other equivalent qualification in a related field recognized and approved by the University Senate.
For diplomas in non-related fields: Obtain at least a Grade B in ONE (1) subject at the SPM level:
• Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Science

STAM LEAVERS

  1. Obtain at least a Jayyid at the STAM level.
  2. Obtain at least a Grade B in Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Science at the SPM level.

MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET)
Obtain at least Band 2.0 for examinations starting from Session 1, 2021. The validity period is 5 years from the test result release date.
