UMT ESTABLISHES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH POLITEKNIK SULTAN IDRIS SHAH

Kuala Nerus – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) through its Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatic (FTKKI) has agreed to collaborate with Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah (PSIS) to expand research in the field of technology.

The collaboration was made official through the signing of Strategic Collaboration Certificate.

According to Prof. Ts. Dr. Che Mohd Ruzaidi Ghazali, faculty dean, the partnership between UMT and PSIS is expected to enhance the development of research and teaching in the niche areas of both institutions, especially in environmental technology.

“This strategic partnership serves as the main platform for sharing knowledge, carrying out collaborative activities, implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, and conducting research, publication, and consultation in the fields of technology and environmental engineering.

“In addition, FTKKI is prepared to provide advisory services on the development of environmental engineering diploma curriculum at PSIS, provide talent development opportunity for PSIS staff through postgraduate studies at master’s level and PhD level at FTKKI, and provide knowledge transfer activities in the fields of technology and environmental engineering.”

Also present during the signing event were director of Community and Industry Collaboration Division (JPPKK) of the Ministry of Higher Education and representatives from the industries.
