KUALA NERUS—Two UMT students were crowned champions in the PNB Investment Quiz Competition in the Higher Learning Institution category recently. The event was held at Kinrara Resort, Puchong.

Muhammad Haris Farhan Mohd Basri and Norjaz Allia Md Khalil, both third-year Accounting students, defeated 13 other teams from Malaysian public universities and took home RM3000 in the form of ASNB Unit Trust.

The event was aimed at providing exposure and information to students on the importance of financial planning, risk and return concepts, Unit Trust industry, and PNB.

Muhammad Haris Farhan said that the quiz competition was really challenging as it forced the participants to think well. He also said that teamwork was also very important.

“Praise Be to Allah, discussions with lecturers and other team members when answering the questions were the keys to the team’s success. The team’s lack of experience in this kind of competition was not an obstacle for us to proving our ability,” Muhammad said.

“We’re also grateful being able to enter the final and compete with teams from other universities eventhough this was our first time participating in this competition,” he said.

He added that the team would set high targets in similar quiz competitions next year and would try the very best to challenge themselves so that they could win again and make UMT proud.
