Several renowned figures who have contributed to the country’s development will be present to receive special awards.

Excellent students from various faculties will also be presented with awards for various categories.

Among the award categories are Honorary Doctorate Degree of Economy, Honorary Doctorate Degree of Social Science, Royal Education Award, Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award, Pro Chancellor Award, Chairman of the Board of Director’s Award, and the Vice Chancellor’s Award.

UMT offers a number of academic programmes including diploma and degree through its five faculties, which are Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Development; Faculty of Science and Marine Environment; Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics; Faculty of Maritime Studies; and Faculty of Fisheries and Food Science.

In 2007, the name was changed to Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

To date, more than 35,000 students have graduated from UMT, and these alumni have been actively contributing to the country’s development.
