Kuala Nerus – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) Student Representative Council (MPP) and Residential College Council (MKS) for 2018/19 academic session paid a courtesy visit to UMT Corporate Communication Centre (PKK) on 11-12 February.

The purpose of the courtesy visit was to introduce the new MPP and MKS line-ups and to discuss the possibilities of collaborations among PKK, MPP and MKS.

MPP President Muhammad Hasyimi Hasyim Mohd Suddin said that the courtesy visit to all departments in UMT was one of the annual agendas and would be carried out immediately following the official appointment of the new council.

He also said that the objectives of the courtesy visit were not only to discuss potential collaborations but also to establish closer relationship between student council and campus community that allows for sharing and exchanging of ideas and experiences.

PKK Deputy Director Wan Mohd Wazir Wan Abdul Wahab said that such courtesy visit should be continued for every new academic session to give the opportunity to the MPP and MKS to get to know all the departments and staff of UMT.

He also said that this visit was a good initiative taken by both councils.

MPP plays an important role in that it acts a medium between UMT management and the students, disseminating important announcement made by the former and voicing the problems faced by the latter.

MKS meanwhile functions as a medium between students living at the hostels and the residential college management, disseminating current information issued by the former and informing about the needs requested by the latter.

Earlier, the councils paid courtesy visits to other departments including Sports and Recreational Centre, Security Division, and University Health Centre where discussions on potential collaborations also took place.
