Petaling Jaya, 24 Nov. 2022 – UMT and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) have continued their strategic relationship when today they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will benefit UMT graduates.

The strategic partnership will help the university produce graduates that will be competitive, sustainable, and quality employees at work. The partnership between UMT and the industry player will also support the graduate employability agenda that has been outlined by the Ministry of Higher Education through the Graduate Employability Plan 2021-2025.

“The collaborations between UMT and TalentCorp have started since 2016 and various programmes and activities for UMT students have been conducted, “said UMT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazlan Abd Ghaffar in his speech.

“With the MOU in place, I believe that the various initiatives offered by TalentCorp, which is placed under the Ministry of Human Resources, will be welcomed by UMT students and lead to success.”

Dato’ Nazaruddin Abdul Jalil, member of TalentCorp’s Board of Director, in his welcoming speech said that TalentCorp acts as a catalyst to help fill a void in the industry by offering training opportunities to improve quality and industrial training to graduates of higher education institutions especially UMT. The presence of a collaboration between UMT and TalentCorp will lead to a positive progress in talent development.

TalentCorp has recently developed the mynext portal that gathers students, universities, companies, and employees. The portal will not only help students increase their employability and career paths, it will also benefit the administrators in relation to obtaining the right talents for the companies and for the jobs.

Also present during the signing ceremony were Thomas Mathew, Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp Group; Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim, UMT Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International); and Prof. Dr. Fauziah Hj Abu Hasan, UMT Pro Vice Chancellor (Corporate Affairs and Industry Networking).
