KUALA NERUS – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) students will have more options to choose if they wish to venture into entrepreneurship following graduation, after a series of fully recognized short term courses were conducted to further develop their skills and interests.

UMT Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr Che Mohd Ruzaidi Ghazali said that these short term courses provided certificates issued by the Terengganu Entrepreneur Development Foundation.

“The Youth Skills@Residential College programme during which the courses were conducted provided value added to the students in that they acquired new skills that may help them to be competitive in the job market,” he said.

The courses conducted during the skill-enhancement programme included barbering, pastry making, makeup, and biscuit making.

Professor Che Ruzaidi said that the skills UMT students learned from the courses could be put to use later after graduation, which would help to reduce the unemployment problem among graduates.

He was present at the Youth Skills@Residential College closing ceremony that was held together with the Grand Iftar (Breaking of Fast) 2019 at UMT. Officiating the ceremony was Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrain Shah Raja Ahmad Baharudin Shah.
