KUALA NERUS, 8 Dec 2019—Student Representative Council (MPP) acts as bridge that connects the students and university management, said UMT Vice Chancellor Professor Dato’ Dr Nor Aieni Mokhtar.

Hence, cooperation from the MPP is needed to help the university achieve its vision and mission, she said.

“All of you have been elected by the students to be their representatives, their leaders, who can contribute towards the development of the university.

As leaders, you must act maturely and professionally, and avoid being blinded by your emotion because that can destroy the camaraderie among students,’ she said.

Professor Nor Aieni gave the advice during an event specially held to present the appointment letters to the council members today.

Also present during the ceremony was Higher Education Ministry Director General Datin Paduka Ir. Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir.

At the event, 24 students were officially appointed as members of UMT Student Representative Council to replace the former members whose appointment had ended in October.

Meanwhile, newly appointed MPP President Muhammad Hasyimi Hasyim Mohd Suddin, an Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, said that high teamwork spirit was the key to achieving success in any undertakings.

“Praise Be to God, all the new council members are more than ready to shoulder the responsibilities entrusted to us by UMT students.

We will give our highest commitment in relaying the concerns and needs of the students to the university management and in ensuring the success of the programmes aimed at producing holistic and competent graduates,” he said.
