Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), a “junior” university in Malaysia that is on the rise, is taking all kinds of initiatives such as participating in Universiti Indonesia GreenMetric World University Ranking (UIGM) in an effort to be more well-known at the global level.

In the latest ranking, UMT climbed 61 spot to sit at 370 among 719 participating institutions.

In 2017 during its first entrance, UMT set its own record when it was ranked 431st among 619 participating institutions.

UMT Vice Chancellor Professor Dato’ Dr Nor Aieni Mokhtar said that in UMT’s sustainable campus plan, the university constantly emphasized on sustainability in every aspect to be in line with the country’s development.
