KUALA TERENGGANU – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu is organizing the first ever East Coast Institution of Higher Education Tenpin Bowling Tournament, taking place at the Coral Crown Bowl, Paya Bunga Complex. The UMT Bowling Club and the Sports and Recreational Centre have been tasked with running the event.

The main objectives of the tournament are to polish the talent of staff from the institutions of higher education and to foster closer relationship among them.

Manager of UMT team Md Tarmizi Ahmad said that the team would do their best in this tournament.

“My team is bent on giving the very best, by fielding experienced players in a series of competition at different levels.

In addition to creating healthy competition, the event presents the opportunity for the staff from the institutions of higher learning in the East Coast to get together.

I hope that this type of competition can be turned into an annual tournament so that the staff and students can meet each other on a consistent basis,” he said.

The tournament consists of several categories of the competition such as women’s singles, men’s singles, mixed doubles, as well as three-person men’s and women’s teams, and will run for two days until 28 March.
