UMT and Concord Sdn Bhd to collaborate on renewable energy

Kuala Nerus – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) has entered into a strategic partnership with Concord Sdn Bhd to collaborate in the field of renewable energy.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreement will enable both parties to improve the viability of renewable energy through joint research and sharing of expertise.

According to UMT Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and International Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim, the collaboration is important in an effort to prepare students before they enter the work world.

“UMT and Concord Group have been in a close relationship since 2019 in the spirit of corporate social responsibilities. Concord Group has been sharing its knowledge and expertise with UMT students, through biogas and renewable energy knowledge and experience sharing sessions as well as industrial visits,” he said during the MOU signing ceremony on campus.

Concord Group has agreed to offer UMT students placements at its several companies as training before they enter the work world after graduation. The group was represented by Concord Biotech Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Hussin Abd Hamid.

Also present during the ceremony were Professor Ts. Dr. Che Mohd Ruzaidi Ghazali, Dean of Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Salisa Abdul Rahman, Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs), and UMT’s senior officers.
