Kuala Nerus, 1 Jan. – For the first time, UMT has appointed Professor Dr. Nora’aini as the new Registrar commencing on 1st January 2017.

This three-years appointment marks its history as Professor Dr. Nora’aini is the first UMT academician to be in this position replacing the previous Registrar, Mr. Mohd Nor Shokri Abd. Rahman. 

She is a professor in the field of Chemistry Engineering (Separation Technology) with the specialization in Membrane & Adsorption Technology and Biomass Conversion Technology andis now one of the professors in the School of Ocean Engineering, UMT.

Born and breed as a pure Terengganu-born, she obtained her Doctoral degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2003 and started her career with UMT as a lecturer in 1996.

Throughout her service with UMT, she has been appointed to various administrative position such as the Director of Research Management and Innovation Centre (RMIC) UMT, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UMT and also was the Director of Academic Talent and Innovation Management Centre (PPBIA) UMT besides actively involved as the Presiden for Kelab Mutiara UMT. 

As professor, she is well-verse in her field of exepertise and active in various research grant activities from Malaysia and internationally and has received many recognition as a researcher.

UMT welcomes Professor Dr. Nora’aini and supports all her plans and manifesto in fulfilling his duty to serve as the new UMT Registrar.
