Kuala Nerus, 25 February 2019 – Students need to constantly remind themselves that they are the catalysts for the country’s development and therefore are important assets, in addition to being the ones to continue the legacy of strong leadership in the future.

As such, UMT Vice Chancellor Captain Professor Dato’ Dr Nor Aieni Mokhtar said that she would like to see UMT students move forward and become the nation’s exemplary new generation.

“All members of UMT Uniformed Bodies need to have positive traits that qualify them to be model students to the others in any aspects including character, attitude and academic success. Believe me, the education and the responsibility that exist in each Uniformed Body can make the students holistic.

“In addition, the students need to balance all aspects such as physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social,” she said during the officiating ceremony for UMT Uniformed Body Opening March Day for Semester 2, 2018/2019 here, today.

During the ceremony, Professor Nor Aieni was given the honour of carrying out the inspection on the march participated by a contingent of 350 members from six platoons of uniformed bodies including Sea PALAPES, SUKSIS, SISPA, Wataniah, Nautical Cadets and Sea Scouts.

“Apart from academic excellence, participation in extra-curricular activities and uniformed bodies provides value added and helps students fulfill the criteria of future leaders,” she said.
