Kuala Nerus, 10 March 2024- Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) has scored five stars in MyMohes ratings for 2023 and is the only public university that has scored 100 percent among the 20 higher learning instutitions in the country.

UMT Vice Chanceelor Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazlan Abd Ghaffar said the results of the ratings were announced by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in the Data Quality Meeting (MKD) at Zamrud Hall, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, on 7 March 2024.

Mazlan considered the achievement as a form of recognition and special appreciation for UMT community. He expressed his gratefulness and congratulated UMT staff who have worked hard to help with the preparation, disemination, and storing of comprehensive and high quality data.

He said UMT will continue to aim for more recognitions and achievements at the national and international levels.

“Congratulations for being committed to ensuring that UMT occupy the best position”.

MyMohes was introduced by MOHE with the aim of evaluating the level of preparedness of higher learning institutions in the system of information distribution and storing of data relating to students, staff, and research.

Evualtion is based on the criteria and characteristics determined by MOHE, namely accuracy (25 percent), completeness (25 percent), consistency (20 percent), credibility (10 percent), and recency (20 percent).

“May this excellent effort be continued for the preparation of accurate, latest, and valid data so that the actual performance and achievement of UMT based on UMT Strategic Plan (PSUMT5) are truly reflected”.

The university with the slogan “Oceans of Discovery for Global Sustainability” has achieved various recognitions, including positive ratings in Times Higher Education (World University Rankings), Times Higher Education (Impact Rankings), Times Higher Education (World University Rankings by Subject), QS World University Rankings, QS University Rankings (Asia), UI GreenMetric, Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA), and SETARA.
