Kuala Nerus—Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) was the organizer of this year’s Pre-University Malaysia Innovation Competition (PIITRAM2021).

In the event that was held online, 368 participants took part, comprising students, lecturers, and management teams from public university foundation centres and matriculation centres in Malaysia.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Laili Che Ros, UMT STEM Foundation Centre Director, said that the event served as a good platform for motivating students to create innovative products.

“Praise Be to God, the event went well. Thank you for trusting UMT to organize the event in collaboration with Science and Medicine Foundation Centre (PUSPA), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA),” she said.

“Innovation comes from creative minds, and it can improve many aspects, such as the quality and productivity of organizations.

“Innovative ideas can come from everywhere, including research and development, and it is important for organizations to create new products and innovate current products to meet the needs of institutions in Malaysia. The innovation must add value to the current output and bring new changes that help to make work more efficient.”

PIITRAM is an annual event overseen by Council of Deans/Directors of Public University Foundation and Matriculation.
